“The inspiration comes from the there not being enough African American cartoon characters in mainstream media yet. So we took an image similar to the well known Waldo and, instead of him blending into the background, we decided to have him STAND OUT. Being seen means to be proud of being an African American. This new character is now called "Wendell".
